What We Do
McKinney
Consulting Inc. is the developer of the ADVANTAGE: line of business information
systems. These systems are designed for
our clients in two (2) closely related segments of the freight transportation
industry: Intermodal Marketing Companies and Intermodal Drayage
Carriers. The ADVANTAGE information system
provides our clients with a strategic
competitive advantage over their competors by allowing them to offer a higher level of customer
service while operating many times more efficiently. In this way, users of our systems become Least Cost Operators while being Best Practice Providers. This combination of low costs and high performance results in greaterer
profitability while increasing customer loyalty and sales volume.

Products, Systems and Services
Our services include the installation, maintenance and
support of information systems designed and developed to address the business,
operational and financial needs of our clients.
The scope of our systems span from Order Processing, (costing, pricing,
arranging, executing and monitoring) to Invoicing, Receivables Management and
Collections to Freight Payment and Auditing; to Financial Reporting and
historically-based Management Reporting; to the imbedded electronic storage and
retrieval of order related documents (Images of Bills of Lading and Proofs of Delivery, et cetera are stored right within
customer orders). Depending upon the
particular business segment our clients are competing in, the solutions are
delivered in the form of either our ADVANTAGE:
IMC
System or our ADVANTAGE: Drayage Trucking System.

Advantage:
IMC System The Intermodal Marketing Company
System
The
ADVANTAGE IMC System supports all
aspects of the most efficiently running and most profitable Intermodal
Brokerage operations in the United States,
Canada and Mexico. Rail Rates and Dray Rates are selected from
your rate file to calculate and
document expected costs and proposed routings associated with Customer Price
Quotes. Quotes are quickly and
repetitively converted to Orders while the On-Line Dispatching function takes
order from telephone acceptance to being dispatched within just 30
seconds. Pick-Up Confirmations, EDI
Billing, Delivery
Pre-Notifications are automatically sent as soon as your operations staff
indicate that the documents are ready for transmission. Accessorial Notifications are similarly
automatically faxed or emailed. Car Location Messages (CLMs) and EDI Tracing data
are periodically collected from each Railroad moving your freight, triggering
daily Tracing reports to your customers.
Customer access to tracing via the Web is also available. To learn more about the IMC System, click here.

Advantage: Drayage System The Intermodal Trucking Company
System
Whether
you utilize company drivers or independent contractors (owner operators) The ADVANTAGE
Drayage System helps Intermodal Trucking Companies operate with technical
savvy-ness and efficiency you need to remain highly profitable in today’s
demanding marketplace. EDI Order Entry
is one example. Here, Electronically
Tendered Loads automatically display on the On-Line Dispatch Board, in
prioritized order based upon availability and the scheduled Ship Date and Time. If you use Owner/Operators, the system allows
dispatchers to document the charges you agree to pay your drivers for each
drop, pick, bob-tail, dead-head and round-trip you ask them to perform no
matter whether you pay them a Percentage of Revenue Rates, Flat Rates,
Point-to-Point rates or Mileage-based Rates.
The Equipment Tracking
features of the Prioritized On-Line, Dispatch Board monitor Free-Time and
Storage Time, warning dispatchers of approaching Per Diem charges so
unnecessary charges can be avoided.
Pickup Notifications, to eliminate Billing Delays at Rail Ramps, and Delivery Notifications are automatically
faxed, emailed or EDIed as soon as your operations staff indicates the
documents are ready for transmission.
Electronic messaging directly to your customer is another
possibility. To learn more about the Drayage System,
