The Advantage IMC System supports an Intermodal Marketing Company’s entire Intermodal and Truck brokerage operation.

Rates: Rail Rates & Dray Rates

Rates make up the foundation of the system.  Rail rates and Dray rates, can be put together, selecting from a collection or file of rates to create door-to-door or ramp-to-ramp routings.  The cost bases defined by these routings are used to evaluate the profitability of routing options and with establishing the price to the customer.  The screen below shows a sample routing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Los Angeles California using a CSXT- UP “Through Rate”.  The bottom portion of the screen shows various rail options available.

Rates are stored for fast access and easy reference.  Drayage and Rail rates are quickly assembled to create door-to-door routings.  Routings can be saved as part of a Quote to a customer.

Quotes

“Quotes” not only define a routing, and the costs associated with the routing, but quotes can also be used to define all aspects of potential orders.  This includes billing addresses, shipper & receiver addresses, pricing, equipment requirements, and every other non-variable aspect of a future order.  In this way, any piece of information that can become part of the pattern will reduce work effort required to process the quote when it becomes an order and therefore speeds the order entry process and the dispatcher’s efficiency.

Quotes are used over-and-over again, as order-entry patterns saving research time and error, speeding the highly accurate order entry process.
